Sylvia was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and like many women she felt a bit in the dark. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome is the most common endocrine disorder among women ages 16-55, but, like women’s health in general, there is a lot physicians don’t know. PCOS is often overlooked by doctors or brushed off as “not a big deal until it’s time to conceive”.
The diagnosis empowered Sylvia to do her own research, looking for ways to ease her symptoms. She quickly realized how many myth’s exist around the disorder, and women’s health in general.
Sylvia’s Salud is a brand born out of frustration and self determination. It was a way for Sylvia to take control of her health and get back to the life she loved. Knowing the medicinal powers of the cannabis plant, Sylvia devoped recipes that eased her pain. Soon word spread and friends began asking her for help with similar issues. Sylvia’s Salud built on the tradition of sharing stories, information, and wellness.
Bringing women together to talk openly about their journeys and to shine a light on women’s wellness has become the mission of Sylvia’s Salud.
